If you need absolute bone crushing power, this amp will probably be for you. There are some flaws like the effects loop and the ridiculous amount of volume needed to really get this amp to roar, but once it's up to volume, it really just destroys any small mammals within a three mile radius. I really like the heaviness and thickness of the distortion on this amp. Most amps don't have distortion that is this powerful and crunchy. The leads are also great sounds. I've been using the Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier Solo Head for about five years and it is the amp I prefer to use when recording metal and hard rock because of the great distortions it has on each of the different channels. Well this is the best head you can get but there is the road king if ya have a few hundred extra and nothing else to spend it on. I would get that i guess but it has the same tube and controls just a different interface. But i recomend a fullstack with enough headroom to open up the wattage on this bad boy!
